FAQs
Why is building a new wildlife hospital necessary?
A new wildlife hospital is crucial to meet the growing demand for specialised care for sick and injured animals. As wildlife populations face increasing threats from habitat loss, climate change, and human activity, the need for advanced medical facilities to rehabilitate and care for these animals has never been greater. This new hospital will provide a world-class environment for treatment, recovery, and research, ensuring that more animals can be saved and released back into the wild.
The hospital will treat a wide range of animals, from native species to injured or sick wildlife, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and marine life. Each area of the hospital is specifically designed to accommodate the unique needs of various species, whether they require surgery, intensive care, rehabilitation, or specialised nutrition.
How will the hospital help protect endangered species?
The hospital will play a vital role in the conservation of endangered species by providing critical care to individuals that may be at risk of extinction. By treating injuries, diseases, and other life-threatening conditions, we increase the survival rate of these species. In addition, the hospital’s research and recovery programs will contribute to broader conservation efforts, including breeding programs and habitat restoration.
How will donor funds be used in the building of the hospital?
Donor funds will be directed toward the construction of the hospital itself, as well as the development of specialised medical facilities, equipment, and the ongoing operation of the hospital. Contributions will support everything from the construction of recovery spaces to the purchase of advanced medical technology and the care of sick and injured animals that are brought into the Hospital.
Will the hospital be open to the public?
Parts of the Hospital is open to Zoo Guests. However the inside areas of the Hospital will be closed to the public. There will be screens for zoo guests to learn about wildlife conservation, the rehabilitation process, and how they can help through guided tours or educational programs. The focus, however, will remain on the medical care of wildlife.
How will the hospital handle emergencies?
The hospital will have dedicated emergency facilities and an experienced team on-call to respond quickly to wildlife rescues. Animals in critical condition will be admitted immediately to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or surgery areas, where they can receive life-saving care.
What makes this hospital different from others?
This hospital is designed with the unique needs of wildlife in mind, providing state-of-the-art medical treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery spaces tailored to various species. The hospital will also emphasize education, research, and community engagement, helping to advance wildlife care practices and ensure that the next generation of wildlife professionals is well-equipped to face future challenges.
What will the hospital’s impact be on local wildlife populations?
The hospital will have a profound impact on local wildlife by providing immediate, high-quality care to injured or sick animals. This will not only improve survival rates for individual animals but also support broader conservation efforts by restoring species to their natural habitats. In addition, the hospital’s research will contribute valuable data to the protection of ecosystems and wildlife health.
How will the hospital’s success be measured?
The success of the hospital will be measured by the number of animals successfully rehabilitated and released back into the wild, the quality of care provided, and the advancement of research into wildlife health and conservation. We will track recovery outcomes, patient care metrics, and community engagement to evaluate our ongoing success.
