Cutting-Edge Facilities
Taronga will see more than 125 native animals brought in for critical, specialist care, each month. Our current hospital is old, cramped and no longer fit-for-purpose. It simply can’t handle the increasing waiting room of wildlife who urgently need our help.
Our new modern facilities will provide the additional space that’s urgently needed for Taronga’s increasing demand on:
- Treatment
- Surgeries
- Rehabilitation
- Quarantine
These facilities will also train the next generation of:
- Veterinary practitioners
- Wildlife carers
- Students
Your incredible generosity makes this project possible. You will be making an enormous difference to the future of Australia’s wildlife.

Meet Our Patients
Our patients often arrive sick, injured or in immense pain. Our vets have the skill and experience to rescue, rehabilitate and release our patients back into the wild. With the increasing number of animals who need our help, our current hospital can’t provide the sufficient level of care required. This makes our new Wildlife Hospital so vital.
Read their stories below.

"We have an ambitious goal to build a world-class hospital right here in Sydney. Our vision is not just about this incredible building, but to significantly increase the capacity in Australia to deal with the wildlife crisis. It’s not only about creating this world-class specialist facility, but also about teaching the next generation of vets, nurses and wildlife carers. This hospital will build capacity and knowledge throughout our nation."

A Future For Australian Wildlife
This is the most critical time in the history of Australian wildlife. We understand the drastic impact that severe weather events like bushfires and floods have on our ecosystems.
With over three billion Australian animals lost during the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires alone, we must do everything in our power to ensure the safety and survival of our beloved native species.
Our extraordinary state-of-the-art hospital will be a centre of excellence for Australian wildlife.

"You have to realise how many animals we are already impacting every day. If we had an even bigger and better place for treating our wildlife, we could make an even greater difference. This new facility is future-proofing our wildlife!"
